Description: Mid American Greenhouses installed a biomass boiler system and is developing carbon credits from the resulting greenhouse gas emission (GHG) reductions. Through its biomass boiler system, Mid American Growers was able to replace nearly 100% of its fossil fuel purchases to heat its main greenhouse facility. Implementation of this project will result in an average annual reduction of 9,200 mtCO2e, carbon credit revenue for 10 years, and decreased annual fuel costs by more than $1 million.
